Tasha Holmstrom, a Fully Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor is the founder of San Roque Pilates and specialist in Pilates for Rehabilitation, Athletic conditioning and pre and postnatal Pilates. Tasha has developed an extensive and diverse background in the areas of fitness, nutrition and wellness. She started a career in health and wellness becoming a certified massage therapist and medical aesthetician. Inspired by the healing mind/body fitness properties of Pilates, Tasha obtained her first Pilates certification through PhysicalMind Institute and began teaching Pilates in 2000 at studios throughout Palm Springs and later in Santa Barbara. Wanting to deepen her knowledge of the rehabilitative aspects of Pilates led Tasha to STOTT PILATES® in 2008 where she obtained a full certification after an intensive program of study and training. Tasha is fully certified in all levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) of STOTT Pilates Mat Work, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels, injuries and special populations, and Pilates for Rehabilitation. Additionally she is certified in ZEN•GA™, CORE™ athletic conditioning, and Total Barre™ instruction through Merrithew. Tasha’s detailed style of instruction is praised by her loyal following of clientele. Tasha added certifications in Bootybarre™, BBarreless and TRX Pilates with the Suspension method to her list of movement modalities and loves to fuse all aspects of what she teaches into her classes.. She attends multiple continuing education courses annually to stay current with everything happening in the health and fitness industry. In addition to her fitness training, Tasha is also a certified nutritionist with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition which enables her to provide her clients with comprehensive coaching in both fitness and nutrition.

Jo Landis Shields

Pilates Instructor

Jo considers teaching Pilates her dream job, as it allows her to combine her love of fitness and passion for helping others. She loves to see Pilates enhance and transform the lives of her clients. Jo believes Pilates is the perfect Yin to any lifestyle. Pilates helps establish the mind-body connection necessary for a balanced fitness routine, while learning proper movement patterns that will sustain healthy posture, and inspire new ways to strengthen the entire body.

Jo is a certified BASI Pilates Instructor and is also certified under Pilates Method Alliance, and is a qualified TRX suspension training instructor. Jo regularly practices Qigong and Reike; both similar in that they incorporate the study of physical and emotional healing through universal life energy. She is committed to continuing her Pilates education with workshops, self-practice, and supporting certifications. Jo currently serves on the Event Ambassador Committee for Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation where she has been active since 2010.

Jo enjoys cooking for family and friends, playing in the ocean, adventuring with her husband and kids, -and tiring out their Australian Shepherd, Koda Bear.

Christina Aguire Kolb

Pilates Instructor

In 2010, Christina hobbled into her first Pilates studio after a debilitating injury to her left ankle. From that moment, Christina has immersed herself into the benefits of Pilates. As a lifelong athlete, the gifts of Pilates allow Christina to continue to live her life on her terms. It was the only exercise method that allowed her to continue strengthening while healing her body. In July 2013, Christina began her training with BASI Pilates, training at Evolve Rehabilitation Pilates in Palos Verdes and BASI Headquarters in Costa Mesa soaking up as many lessons from amazing mentors and BASI founder, Rael Isacowitz. Since then, Christina has had the opportunity to teach at studios throughout Southern California. Christina is excited to be a part of San Roque Pilates, the studio with dedicated and delightful clients that share in her desire to be healthy, strong and live life fully.

Julia DePaoli

Pilates Instructor

Julia is originally from Santa Barbara, CA. She has trained extensively in many different styles of dance with an emphasis in ballet and modern for the majority of her life. Julia was first introduced to Pilates through her dance training as a means to condition and build strength, and immediately saw its many benefits. While attending the University of California, Irvine and studying Dance Performance and Business Management she was able to work with Pilates and Ballet instructor Diane Diefenderfer. As a renowned Pilates master teacher who comes from a dance background as well, Diane's instruction made Julia fall in love with the Pilates method. Following her graduation from UC Irvine in 2017, Julia completed her Pilates certification through Diane Diefenderfer's training program at Studio du Corps in Orange Country, CA. Julia worked for two years as a parade performer and dancer for the Walt Disney Company, and contributes her ability to keep her body healthy, moving, and injury free to her Pilates practice. Julia loves to work with clients to improve their overall health and happiness, and is working toward her ultimate goal to become a Physical Therapist. Julia is dedicated to inspiring healthy and mindful movement in a fun environment, while emphasizing flexibility, balance, and strength in her classes.
